Currently the Director of Acquisition & Exhibition at Women Make Movies, Kristen programs the global exhibition of WMM's collection of over 500 films, and is responsible for the acquisition of the organization's new releases as well as managing their festival, marketing and outreach plans. Kristen's involvement in film has spanned participating in film festival juries around the world; speaking engagements on panels focusing on distribution, promotional strategies and impact campaigns for social justice documentary; serving on the board of NewFest; and as a long-term member of the selection committee for the New York International Asian Film Festival. Kristen serves annually as a judge for the Student Academy Awards (The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences), is a judge for the Northeast Emmys, and was recognized as an Emerging Leader by the National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture (NAMAC). Even on her days off Kristen cultivates an ongoing love affair with film, frequenting the cinemas at BAM and IFC. Kristen also enjoys walks with her chihuahua, Kingston, and exploring New York City—most likely while deliberating about how documentary film really can change the world.
